How many of you are affected by the moon’s cycles? If we’re made mostly of water, and the tides are affected by the moon’s cycles, you can bet your pendulum that our bodies are affected as well! This is a great example of our interconnectedness: What is experienced in one place is also experienced to some degree in another—even a quarter of a million miles away!
In a smaller context, we’re affected by those around us well. Have you been in a room where the tension was so think it could be cut by a Lemurian seed crystal and wanted to exit before your first sip of Kombucha? Likewise, when you enter a room of post-yogic euphoria, you enter into Namasteland yourself. But what happens when a group of people or a community is dealing with extremely difficult situations?
You know your energy affects others. They in turn affect even more, and so on. We can agree on this, yes? Taking it one step further, if you’ve got lots of repressed anger, for example, it affects you and those around you and those around them and so on. And what happens when an entire community, city, or country is frustrated, oppressed, and angry about it? What happens when extreme poverty is in the collective unconsciousness as much as the conditions that caused it? It affects the people of course, and it also affects the Earth. Of course global climate change is an end result of our ways of doing (methane, CO2, pollution, chemicals, etc.), but did you know it’s an end result of our ways of being, too?
In the USA alone, extreme temperatures both high and low have ridden the coasts for the last few years. In February 2010 it snowed in Florida and there were rainstorms in Los Angeles. Global warming should be renamed because it’s too easy for doubters to say, “What about the extreme cold temperatures?” What, that’s not bad enough? Can we just call it Climate Change?
The recent tragedies of Chile, Haiti, New Orleans, Indonesia and more are of course due to tactile shifts and what are called “Acts of God”, but has anyone bothered to ask what causes tactile shifts? Or why God would choose to submit his children to such horrors? The cartoon Pogo cited, “I have seen the enemy, and it is us” and while I don’t like to call anyone an enemy, we all need to step up and recognize that not only do our thoughts affect our health, they affect our friends and family, and they affect the Earth as well. The areas subject to extreme weather conditions were also subject in some degrees to poverty, oppression, or political unrest. And in the case of New Orleans; the additional element of fear. Many knew the levees weren’t strong enough and were awaiting “the big one”.
Climate Change is real, and so is the potential of reversing it. But just like any of my clients who get no help from mainstream medicine, without knowing, owning, and working with the underlying cause, there is no chance of healing. It’s time to start forgiving, folks. Everyone—politicians, doctors, parents and more—are only doing the best they can with what they’ve been given. And that’s where the problem is, in WHAT they’ve been given, not with the persons themselves. We’ve all made mistakes, and hopefully we’ve learned from them. We’ve all hurt people, and hopefully we’ve made amends. And we’ve all been hurt, often by those closest and dearest to us. And it is my hope that we learn to love them anyway. No one has ever healed from punishment; forgiveness is the only way. And now that we’re more aware of how important it is to do so—for our own health, that of our family and friends and even our Earth—let’s start now.
