One Life:
God By Any Other Name
by Kathy Kirk |
Have you ever noticed a weed or a daisy poking itself up through the cracks of the pavement in the heart of the city? Certainly you’ve heard of coyotes in metropolitan areas; and what of the myriad birds that sing to us in every metropolis, not to mention the insects and rodents. All Life – insisting itself. Life ising, if you will that Life Is. Recently I made a trip to Hocking County, Ohio where I visited the Wahkeena Nature Preserve. The naturalist there showed me a picture of this Preserve back in the 1920’s. Surprisingly, it was a farm back then. There wasn’t a tree to be seen anywhere. Today as you walk through the magnificent forest, and explore the pond and swamp, the realization can only be that Life Is always insisting itself. It cannot and will not be suppressed. Life is ever expanding and creating. New species come as other species leave. On the Balearic Islands a new insect is identified; while the International Institute for Species Exploration at Arizona State University each year adds new species to the lists. Life is the exuberance of variety and diversity. Species live; species go extinct – at least here on Earth. However, the consciousness of Life is eternal and infinite. When I walk through the forests or the deserts or the beaches I often think, this would be truly a crowded place if dinosaurs still walked the earth. We worry when a species becomes thin or endangered, but Life has plans for more, always there is more, for Life is eternal and infinite expressing itself shamelessly, haughtily and boldly everywhere we look. Certainly we, the human species, has experimented, manipulated and otherwise impacted Life on Earth. But we are learning that the machinations of the human mind consciousness are not the same thing as the Divine mind consciousness. In Nature is Life Divine, ising perfectly through each and every species of flora and fauna unimpeded by a human mind. This is elegance Pure and True. This is Real consciousness, God consciousness flowing unobstructed by human thoughts of lack, greed, limitation and finiteness. The human mind strives to see and realize the elegance of Divine Mind in Nature when we behold a raging wild fire, a tsunami, or a species going extinct. How can this destruction and death be Life, yet It is. About six years after the great Yellowstone fire, I had the opportunity to go on a pack trip into the wilderness. Thousands of dead and burnt lodge pole pines were littering the forest floor, decomposing and providing nourishment for the millions of lodge pole seedlings that had sprouted up carpeting the area in new growth green. It was breath taking. Nary a human hand had intervened in this process. The seedlings were at that point about a foot tall. The old trees had become the nursery for the new forest. As humans raise the human consciousness into oneness with the Divine Consciousness we will live more and more, in an evolutionary manner, in alignment with Divine Mine and Divine Elegance. The good news is that we are doing it so in record numbers. All across the planet individuals are awakening and living more and more in alignment with the Natural Order of Life, which is God. The thing we must also realize is that there is no fear or disharmony in Godmind, therefore we should not react or respond to the changes we must make out of fear, but rather with optimism and exuberance. We are God, Itself, expressing in the physical here on Earth, just as are all the species of flora and fauna. There is an Intelligent Design at work. All we have to do is realize our Oneness with It. Life is God – Infinite, Eternal, and Elegant – it is a consciousness. It is the consciousness of Nature and God is our individual consciousness which we are reaching for and will achieve, because at long last we desire to do so. Be still and know, I AM. All is Well, because Life Is.
